My Name ist Marcel and I’am from Germany. I’am working as senior network-/ security-/virtualization-engineer for a service-provider in central Germany with a network-experience for about over 16 years.
My job is to design and implement network and security solutions for our customers and our own datacenters. Mostly this is set up of Cisco and Sophos components. Also virtualization (VMware) and VoIP (Mitel)
comes into play.
In my free time and on the weekend, which unfortunately is not enough^^, I love to DJ, cook, brew beer spend time with my familiy and last but not least – prepare for projects, workshops and exams.
The idea why I created this page is quickly explained: If I prepare for a exam, a project or looking for new products and features – the best thing to keep it in mind or fully understood for me is simply to write it down in MY own words. The next reason why I installed this page is to share crazy things, network designs, funny storys from my projects or maybe just a cocktail recipe. Real stories that happened to me while working in the IT.

If anybody want to know here is what I’am a certified in: Cisco CCNA R&S, Datacenter and Wireless, VMware VCP DCV6.5, VSP, VTSP and VCAP CIA, Sopos Certified Engineer XG.
What I lost, is that I’am also certified for Mitel VoIP and Ascom IP-DECT systems – so in summary there is networking, datacenter, wireless, security, virtualization and a bit of VoIP/SIP. That’s a lot but this is what I need to get my job done.
